Description
The DRV8825 Stepper Motor Driver board is a breakout board for TI’s DRV8825 micro-stepping bipolar stepper motor driver. The module comes with a supporting Aluminum heat-sink to protect from overheating. This module has nearly identical pin-out and compatible with the A4988 based stepper motor driver board. You can use the DV8825 as a higher-performance drop-in replacement for the a4988 board since it can draw up to 4 Amps of current compared to 2 Amps of the A4988.
The DRV8825 features adjustable current limiting, overcurrent, and over-temperature protection, and six micro-step resolutions (down to 1/32-step). It operates from 8.2 – 45 V and can deliver up to approximately 1.5 A per phase without a heat sink or forced air flow (rated for up to 2.2 A per coil with sufficient additional cooling).
