Description
A light emitting diode (LED) that is used in order to transmit infrared signals.
This is a very simple and clear infrared LED which operate between 840-850nm and work for generic IR systems including remote control and touch-less object sensing. Pair them with IR receiver 1.5VDC forward voltage and 50mA max forward current. Can be directly connect to a microcontroller, Arduino or Raspberry Pi with only a few current limiting resistors and require no complex circuit for getting it working.
Also known as Infrared emitter or IR (Infra Red) emitter, a source of light energy in the infrared spectrum.
IR LED/sensor consists of two parts, the emitter circuit and the receiver circuit. This is collectively known as a photo-coupler or an optocoupler.
