Description
An Inductive Proximity Sensor is used for non-contact proximity detection of metallic objects. The sensing range is dependent on the type of metal, for this model the range goes about 8mm. Since the output of an inductive sensor has two possible states, an inductive sensor is sometimes referred to as an inductive proximity switch. Common applications of inductive sensors include metal detectors, traffic lights, car washes, and a host of automated industrial processes.

Wiring:
Brown Wire : to power supply (~5-36VDC)
Blue Wire : to ground
Black Wire : normally open (N/O) contact.
When a metal object gets near the sensor, it closes the contact.
