DS3231 is a low-cost, extremely accurate I2C Real-Time Clock (RTC), with an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and crystal. The device incorporates a battery back-up that when main power is disconnected it maintains accurate timekeeping. Inside the chip is an integrated oscillator to improve long-term accuracy of the device. The DS3231 is widely used in commercial and industrial application for its reliability.
